John Pereksta is a seasoned guitarist whose playing draws from the heavy, dynamic energy of 1970s progressive rock and stoner rock, the iconic riffs of Black Sabbath, the virtuosic complexity of Rush, the downhome sound of Southern rock, the intricate beauty of folk fingerstyle.
He first picked up the guitar at 15 and has spent decades immersed in both original songwriting and tribute performance.
With The Ditch Dogs, he focused on the creative process of writing and performing original material. In Tuesday’s Gone, a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute project, he honored the classic southern rock sound and legacy of the band.
Whether crafting original songs or channeling classic rock energy, John brings passion, versatility, and a lifelong dedication to the instrument, and is the perfect compliment to the Half Drunk and Hollow Eyed sound
